Overview
Why XPS Outperforms EPS and Traditional Insulation
The 100 percent closed-cell difference. XPS board is manufactured through continuous extrusion, not bead expansion like EPS. This creates a uniform honeycomb closed-cell structure where every cell is sealed and independent. The result: water absorption below 1 percent by volume, thermal conductivity stable at 0.028-0.030 W/mK even in damp underground conditions, and compression strength from 200 to 700kPa for heavy-load applications. Unlike EPS which absorbs moisture and loses R-value over time, XPS board maintains full thermal performance for 50 plus years buried underground, making it the definitive choice for foundation, cold storage, and inverted roof insulation.
◆ Waterproof Underground Performance. Closed-cell XPS board absorbs under 1 percent water by volume, even in saturated soil. When EPS turns into a wet sponge underground, XPS board maintains its full insulation R-value year after year.
◆ 200-700kPa Compression Strength. Standard XPS board handles floor heating loads comfortably. High-compression XPS up to 700kPa supports heavy machinery, vehicle traffic, and warehouse racking loads without deformation.
◆ Stable Thermal Performance, Zero Drift. XPS board maintains its original thermal conductivity throughout its service life. No off-gassing R-value drift like some polyisocyanurate boards. No moisture-related degradation like EPS and mineral wool.
◆ Effortless On-Site Fabrication. Cut with a simple utility knife or hot wire. No special tools, no protective equipment beyond standard site PPE. Lightweight boards speed up installation and reduce labor costs across the project.

Application Scenarios

Radiant Floor Heating Systems. Ideal base insulation beneath floor heating pipes. XPS board reflects heat upward and prevents heat loss into the ground, maximizing heating system efficiency.

Cold Storage and Freezer Floors. High-compression XPS board withstands forklift and heavy racking loads while maintaining insulation in sub-zero cold storage environments.

Inverted Roof and Underground Perimeter. Closed-cell XPS board handles direct soil contact where EPS and mineral wool fail. Foundation, roof, parking deck, and railway applications.
Trusted Across 110+ Countries
Our XPS boards serve construction companies, cold storage builders, and civil engineering contractors worldwide. CE, ISO 9001, ASTM C578, and SGS certified. OEM thickness, size, and density available.
